September CSB: Grains of the American South

20.00

A 3 week CSB in September on Wednesdays the 2nd, 9th, and 18th. Historically, the American South’s warm climate has been too hot to grow the hardy, strong wheats of the North and Midwest. And yet, baking has long been as Southern of an institution as anywhere else in the country. Each week, we will focus on a different grain of the American South to explore their flavors and historical uses in breads: rye, Carolina Gold rice, and wheat. $20 gets you one loaf a week, to be picked up at your location of choice: Marshall (Zuma), Weaverville (Honey & The Hive), or Asheville (RAD Farmers Market). Pick up your loaf anytime after 2pm at Zuma and Honey & The Hive, or between 3 and 6pm at the RAD Market at All Souls Pizza.
